Catching (up on) Stones

Jan 25

Proverbial ear-to-ear grin,

proud of the hard earned test grade

and the praise of pride-full parents.

Jan 26

The puppy (biggest already of three dogs),

less concerned with her ‘business’,

or even the food in the bowl,

as she is with giving and

receiving affection.

Perhaps we ….

Need I even ask the question?

River of Stones – Jan 24

A day of sun at last –
illuminated browns and rust of
dead winter foliage preferable
to the wet grays.

the crows, alone,

brave the downpour.

proving their indifference,

or arrogance.

River of Stones – Jan 22

Greeted with birdsong

in the early a.m.

They are north

too early,

but welcome.

Miserable day; wet, overcast, running a fever, cant breathe, body hurts… but had to be a ‘stone’ in there somewhere.

clings

to the
lakeshore

River Of Stones – Jan 19

I have apparently been fascinated with the sky lately. Maybe I will look down for a stone tomorrow.

So much clearer the winter sky

without the haze of heat

to fog our eyes.

River of Stones – Jan 18

Rain     and       rain

for     days….

but warm for January.

Today –

Radient sun with

brilliant skies…

cold, mind you,

But not complaining.

Midnight streetlight

illuminates rain slicked street,

A surrogate for the

Shrouded moon.

Days of incessant clouds

can be a bit

tiresome,

but the sunsets

are

magnificent.
