Born of Atoms

There is a revelation to be found
if you are           still          enough
to bear witness

standing in a field at night
— or forest meadow —.
beneath a clear sky
.                       where stones sing a lament

..           of ages never to return
and stars       breathe        whispered       legends
        of their source

Each moment a                cycle
of your destined               journey,
a line of the                       story
we were born to               tell.

  1. Having sought that revolution myself, these words resonated for me. Thank you, Mark. This is a beautiful piece.

  2. Really like this. The imagery and the flow. But found myself adding a word that wasn’t there at the end. Read it twice and did the same thing. Wanted to add the word “alone” to we were born to tell.

  3. Absolutely breathtaking….I love the scenic expanse of this 🙂

  4. This is beautiful, Mark. I particularly loved, “where stones sing a lament.”

  5. I love the magic in this piece – the tangible sense of it conveyed in stones and stars and skies 🙂

  6. a scary invention, which also makes things in perspective.

  7. My word, Mark. This is phenomenal. It’s one of my favorites of yours.

Some of what I write is true, some is fiction; most is merely possibility.
