Still Here

She is here again
this morning,
asleep beside me
at the passing
of another year.

I know not why she
chooses to be with me,
but I am more grateful
every day.

It must be love
that makes her stay,
because I have given
her so few other reasons.

Sixteen years today she has put up with me.
Happy Anniversary!

The poem?
A little trite? Somewhat cheesy?
Its a love poem (or as close as I get
to one). What do you want?

  1. You big sap, you. That’s okay. Wives like sap. Congrats, youngsters!

  2. A wonderful love poem. She will appreciate it and stay a bit longer.

  3. Happy Anniversary, and a lovely, loving poem.

Some of what I write is true, some is fiction; most is merely possibility.
