awaken your mind,
heart and voice

rouse a spirit
of indignation
and righteousness

be heard and seen,
let your words be

history will remember
today if you refuse
to be silent

take what is written
on the walls, engrave
it on your soul

awaken yourself
to tomorrow

Anna at dVerse asks for graffiti this week. I looked at these stanzas as being separate pieces that could be ‘written on a wall’, or they could be taken together as part of the whole.

  1. history will remember today is you refuse to be silent…amen to that…smiles…nice repetition of awaken as well through out…in my soul….

  2. I love the direction you went with the prompt!

  3. take what is written
    on the walls, engrave
it on your soul…i like…and works the other way round as well..

  4. awaken – and that’s what so many of us need to do – WAKE UP!!! Instead, we accept some sort of mass-produced mogadon and sleepwalk through life, unaware of what is realy happening, numb to the pain in ourselves and others.

  5. Nicely done – we certainly need to be roused…

    Anna :o]

  6. I like the way you treated this prompt.

Some of what I write is true, some is fiction; most is merely possibility.
