Mr. Wallace

His church of sixty years
was full, every pew,
three plus rows of family —

if a man is judged by the size
of his funeral and the love
of his family —

they sang In The Garden
and The Old Rugged Cross
and shared memories.

Recognition of a life of faith,
friendship and love.

Taps played at the cemetery
after a salute was fired,
the flag was folded and
presented to his bride
of seventy years.

Acknowledgement for honorable
service in two wars.

Mr. Wallace, Harry, Daddy,
PawPaw.

Be at ease man of God,
your place is prepared,
you completed the race,
you have fought the good
fight, have kept the faith.

Rest in Peace
John Harry Wallace

  2. a nice tribute and there are no words of sympathy to help at a time like this. Just know he is in a much better world now. grief is only for the living and it is hard to deal with.
