Coffee, Regular

a spoon a sugar
a bit of cream,

stir
consider
blow
taste

a little more perhaps
not quite right

stir
consider
blow
taste

If I keep adding
to this one,

maybe it will kill
the bitter taste

of the last.

Black coffee in a white cup served on a saucer...

Oh Mark. Anything about coffee grabs me. πŸ™‚ This actually reminds me a tad of Luke Prater’s writing, particularly the one-word repeated lines and also “a spoon a sugar” instead of “a spoon of sugar.” That’s totally something he would do too.

This reminds me of my husband, who replaced his first wife with a much sweeter second wife (that’s me). πŸ™‚

  2. Mmmmmm.

    stir

I think I’m gonna do that with my day. After I make another cup. πŸ˜‰

    Loved this, Mark.

  3. Nice. Pity I’m not allowed caffeine! But I sneaked a lovely cup of tea when I got home last night.

  4. Hmmm. Just had my homemade Latte. Delicious post, but somehow I’m feeling something a bit metaphoric in that bitterness.

Some of what I write is true, some is fiction; most is merely possibility.
