Fragment of a scent,
nothing more —
a passing stranger
jostled in a crowd,
not her.
A fragrant memory
of another time,
mere remnant of a
previous life.

  3. Mark, it is bittersweet and told so well. The picture may have influenced me, but it seemed to be an urban scene – one that I could relate to.

    • That was the intent, a crowd setting; train station, airport, busy street, whatever. Just catching a whiff of the scent…then it is gone again. Thanks for reading and commenting.
