I could not resist another quick one for Margo’s image prompts.

The jury visibly relaxed,
Judge Johnson leaned back,
both attorneys smiled a little,
the defendant tried not to react.

Decisions could now be made,
Big John had stood to speak;
people would be swayed,
for truth was all he spoke.

    Reminds me of the Scopes Monkey Trial somehow…

    Great poem here. Its amazing how prolific of a poet and a writer you are. You seem to put out so many creative writing pieces each day, on a regular basis. I am amazed by how much you are able to write, every single day…Wow… 🙂

  2. Ditto, It’s as though once you re-started you had to make up for lost time!

  3. I really like the feel of this. Great poem.

  4. Mark, I like this one too, especially how it’s about so many people – dare I say “witnesses”. And naming him “Big John” – brilliant. We both had that important word “truth” in our last lines.

Some of what I write is true, some is fiction; most is merely possibility.
