Midnight Again

Trying to drag a poem
from the midnight landscape,
staring from the window of
the dark dining room.

There is nothing there.

I return to wandering from room
to room and contemplate
shadows, memories and the pain
that accompanies insomnia.

  1. Oh, definitely. This is perfect.

  2. You captured the essence of a restless tired soul beautifully…

  3. Been there and so many nights, I can so relate to your words and feelings.

  4. oy i have walked those rooms…looking for something to pass my time til sleep showed up…if it did….

  5. Fortunately, I don’t have to deal with insomnia, but the wandering would make for a very long night!

  6. Sad or unhappy thoughts are bound to cause sleepless nights and insomnia if one dwells on them as you described so well.

Some of what I write is true, some is fiction; most is merely possibility.
