Life Changing

Robert Brewer’s Poetic Asides prompt was for a ‘life changing moment poem’.

Life Moments

love

altar

vows

ring

kiss

out of the dark

into the light

push

breath

scream

pride

love

out of the dark

into the light

belief

water

life

faith

love

out of the dark

into the light

fear

tears

peace

rest

love

out of the dark

into the light

You’re definitely good at the minimalist approach–this is immediate and crisp, yet plenty of emotional layers. The repetition works really well.

  2. So many ways to be born 😉

  3. This is an intriguing experimental piece.

  4. An interesting approach. I especially liked the ending three lines.

  5. Love this one. Clever and it works.

  6. On the whole I’m not a fan of ultra-short lines, but this one has a pattern which works.

Some of what I write is true, some is fiction; most is merely possibility.
